My Drag Bike Build

As much as i love the twisties i have always wanted a drag bike something that will be a 1/4 mile beast. I started with a stock 2008 suzuki gsxr 1000 that i pick up this winter i got for a good deal. After alot of time researching what i needed to do to build a good platform for a drag bike this is what i came up with...

Galfer SS clutch line smoked

Soupy lowering links 0"-4"
Brocks performance front lowering straps
M4 GP exhaust with cat delete

After alot of work and a few late nights its done!!! (for now) It needs to be lowered more but untill i cut and weld the kickstand i dont want to lower it any more. Its already has no lean the way it sits now.

I havent even gone down the track yet and i want to go faster lol...so this winter ill be slapping a turbo kit and air shifter on it. Should be a real beast then. Hope to see you all out on the street or at the track!!

Thanks guys im excited... it started to rain just as i finnished it so i havent even took it for a rip yet. SUCKS lol but i cant wait for opening day at the track. I have a feeling that that stock clutch will be crying with the abuse im going to give it so a barnett clutch is the next thing on my list!

no the chain guard thay had for the arm was ugly and didnt really work so i didnt get it put on.

would look a hell of a lot better either stock or with a 300 something series tire on the back, the long swingarms and stock tires look goofy. No denying the performance gains but if your gunna kill the handling you may as well go all the way with it :)

With a 300 tire i would never get traction. Its like having a rwd car and having 20" rims with a 35 series tire it will just spin for days. I only plan on runnin 15psi in the tire at the track so it will hook better.

yes thats exactly what i ment i just didnt explain is right lol sorry....all thoes fat tire kits like the 300 use a rubberband for a tire plus they use 4 sprokets and 2 chains.

It doesn't matter if the tire is sticky or not, if it doesn't have a tall, flexible sidewall, it won't hook.

+1. i do like the 300 kits, they look sick but not good for a drag bike.

I made the suggestion that a smart high power rwd car would do this. My personal experience is only from NYC/NJ, and the big money runs always launched on concrete.

imo, if a car needs a track to be fast then keep it on the track. don't come up with excuses after you lose.
